Welcome. Videoworks is here to inform the New York production community about my work in video. It is primarily dedicated to my work in the field of editing and post-production. My editorial
work crosses many creative lines, from
I'm not afraid to say that I love eye candy! Often it is just too difficult to explain exactly what I do in an
ordinary conversation, so that's why I've put together the VideoWorks web
site.

You can discover more by opening
the windows on the right hand side of this page. I also dabble a bit in
Music
and Soundtracks, for video and film productions and do a bit of directing
and cinematography.
I am currently in the process of putting together a new editing demo reel, as well as, a demo of some of the 2D work I have been creating in Adobe After Effects. I have worked with many clients in the past. |

I primarily edit on Avid Media Composer, although I also work on Adobe Premiere with a Media 100 video card and a number of the newer breeds of video editing and compositing programs, such as Final Cut Pro. I’m excited by the recent advancements in video software emerging today. iMovie for the iMac is a great example of that. One of my favorite things is mastering new video editing programs. I always keep an eye out for the latest and the greatest. If you would like to find out more about the software and hardware I'm familiar with, feel free to check out the Bio & Resume section of Videoworks. |

I have a lot of ideas about the
future of video. Video production is about to explode in many new directions,
particularly in the fields of broadband internet delivery services and
digital broadcasting.
The latest advancements in video technologies, such as DV and HDTV promises to take video post production in newer exciting directions. |

I have some very specific thoughts
about the creative process of editing. I enjoy breaking new ground
and advancing the technique of that process. I have a very strong work
philosophy when it comes to collaborating with people and being creative.
I enjoy telling a story. The best editing is seamless- invisible, not noticed by the viewer. I have the deepest respect for the classic artform of film editing, yet I also like to experiment. |

Enjoy the info here at Videoworks. I'll be updating this page regularly. I hope to be adding some Quicktime movies as the site progresses. Feel free to email. Perhaps one day we’ll see each other in the editing room... Brian Bothwell
